When you have purchased a 4×4 vehicle, whether it is a Suzuki Samurai or MAN KAT 8×8, you want to use it to travel off road and be able to tackle or conqueror whatever comes your way (this includes turning back).
This means that you need to learn to read the terrain, know how your vehicle behaves on and off the road and need to understand which levers to switch and what buttons to push. Even more important: you have to know your own physical and psychological limits as a team.
We do not believe in static training, so every course will be very hands on and instructors will regularly jump in the seat next to you to explain actions and talk you through processes.
What better way to ‘learn this by doing’ under the supervision of very experienced instructors with both extensive off road travel experience as well as challenge – off road racing experience.

Your lead instructor will be Remco-Peter van der Waarden, ‘RP’ from dutch-overlanders.com. RP speaks Dutch, English and German and courses can be given in any of these languages – or a mix – depending on the country of origin of the participants.
RP has over 30 years off road experience in anything on wheels. He was a parttime instructor at the Dutch Land Rover Driving Experience and 4WD Magazine (travel). RP also qualified as a Wilderness Guide with off-roading and survival specializations in 2011 (PAWGI, Canada). RP will be generally assisted by Aimee, the better half of dutch-overlanders.com. Depending on group size there will be additional instructors, with similar experience and fully trained by RP.
